Grand Prix of Europe, Monaco, 22 May 1955

The battle of the first laps between the Lancia D50 of Eugenio Castellotti and the Mercedes W196 of Stirling Moss was royal. Unfortunately, the Mercedes of Fangio, Moss and Simon retired and Alberto Ascari with his Lancia D50 dived into the Monaco harbour. Maurice Trintignant’s Ferrari 625 won the 13th edition of Monaco Grand Prix.
